Ellie Dvorkin

Actor ◆ Host ◆ Comedian

About

Ellie Dvorkin has performed with country legend Kenny Rogers at the historic Beacon Theatre, toured nationally with the interactive cult classic "Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding", lent her voice to the audio tours at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art, and had featured roles on the network television programs “Law & Order”, “The Education of Max Bickford” with Richard Dreyfuss, and “Deadline” with Oliver Platt.

More recently, Ellie has found a niche as a host for pharmaceutical industrial videos and live events. She is known for nailing huge chunks of TelePrompter text in one take, flawlessly hosting a live broadcast, and perfectly pronouncing complicated drug names.

Her favorite role, however, is as the "El" half of the hilarious comedy music duo Mel & El. Hailed as "outrageous" by The New York Times and "ready for prime time" by The New York Post, real-life best friends and NYC phenomenon Mel & El have brought down the house at Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova, Gotham Comedy Club, Upright Citizen's Brigade, 92Y, and onboard Atlantis gay cruises. Their hit song "Fagnet" won the Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Comedy Number and they received the Collaboration Award given by the NY Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts and Media. Their latest exploits can be found at The Mommy Show.
